Your Gmail Messages Are Being Accessed by App Developers

The emails in your Gmail account are being accessed and read by third-party companies, a new report from WSJ has revealed.

When people learn that their email could be read by Google and other companies, they are usually surprised, but the initial shock washes out quickly because they imagine that’s probably true and that’s been happening for a long time.

Email services are considered to be secure, and we used them for all kinds of purposes. Most of the time, we rely on the security they provide. This where we recover the passwords, for example, and it’s not a trivial matter. It’s also a place where we store personal details such as important attachments. It’s supposed to be a secure space, at least in our minds, but it’s far from that.
