Microsoft Surface Andromeda Not Dead, Launch Planned for Late 2019
Microsoft Surface Andromeda was one of the most anticipated product releases of the year, but according to recent reports, the software giant has postponed the unveiling until at least spring 2019.While it was originally believed that Microsoft was even considering killing off the project, a new report from Thurrott indicates that the company does not want to retire Andromeda entirely.
Instead, the device is being reworked once again and Microsoft is now working on refining hardware and software in order to obtain a more compelling mix that would help align with the premium quality set by the Surface brand.
The report adds that pushing back the device to next year is a move that makes sense given the current chip configurations. Surface Andromeda would use ARM, and right now, the top chipset optimized for Windows 10 ARM is Snapdragon 835 launched last year. While there were rumors ... (read more)
