Microsoft Releases First Windows 10 Redstone 5 Build for Slow Ring Users
Microsoft has finally released the first Windows 10 Redstone 5 (fall 2018) build to users enrolled in the Slow ring, more than two months after beginning the public April 2018 Update rollout.Windows 10 build 17692 is thus available for download right now for Slow ring users, and in addition to the original version that launched on June 14 for users in the Fast and Skip Ahead rings, it brings four new fixes to refine the performance of the operating system.
First and foremost, Microsoft says that it fixed an issue causing the login screen to crash in a loop when picture password is being used, as well as a bug breaking down DRM video playback in Microsoft Edge. Improved reliability and performance for the Start menu is also included in the Slow ring release, and so is a bugfix addressing keyboard settings in Ease of Access glitches.
