Intel Reveals 9th Generation CPUs by Mistake, They Are Based on Coffee Lake
Intel inadvertently revealed details about the 9th generation of processors, and it looks like it's going to be based on Coffee Lake.
Intel controls the release of information about new products very tightly, but the company slipped up and published the Microcode Revision Guidance document, which also happened to contain the names for the upcoming 9th generation processors.
The fact that a new generation of CPUs is in the works is not surprising, but it's interesting to see that the company is using Coffee Lake as a base. Of course, we expect to see the entire range of CPUs, even if the document posted only shows the presence of i5 and i3 models.
No word on i7 or i9 just yet
While a mention of CPUs in guidance PDF might not be the source we're all expecting, it's still an official document. It shows that the company is going to be using Coffee Lake S and lists Core i3-9100 and Core i3-9000 with a 4+2 architecture, and Core i5-9600(K), Core i5-95... (read more)
